Printed circuit boards go into some really incredible inventions. Over the last several decades, rockets have launched people into space, computers have gone from demanding whole rooms to fitting in your pocket, and circuits have shrunk to the size of a pencil eraser. The engineers and hobbyists who comprise Sunstone's target market are passionate and nostalgic about their projects � and rightfully so. Because they haven�t just witnessed these astounding technological advancements � they�ve made it happen!
With sales in a slump and some major initiatives stuck in a holding pattern, Sunstone�s marketing team needed something to keep customers engaged through the fourth quarter � while capturing the new leads needed to start the year right.
Secondary goals included the desire to celebrate their 40th anniversary, earn credit in the eyes of customers for the many advancements they've spearheaded in the PCB fabrication process, and kickstart engagement on the clients' recently-launched social media initiatives.
We asked users to submit their favorite PCB story � be it their first lemon clock or their latest MIT research project � for the chance to win a new iPad, custom case, and iTunes gift card. Winners were chosen by popular vote, and every other week a voter winner received their choice of a $100 Visa gift card or $150 Sunstone credit.
