Best Small Business Online Video

The "Make Your Idea Happen" contest called on entrepreneurs to share their ideas in order to get a chance to receive the products and advice to bring their businesses to life. In addition to monetary assistance, Staples partnered with small business experts who offered advice as part of the grand prize. Problem: Staples needed to shift customer perception from “the store that has office supplies” to “the store and website that offers all supplies”—yoga mats, dog treats and everything in between—needed to run a small business. Solution: Staples launched a “Make Your Idea Happen” contest summoning entrepreneurs to bring their passions to life. Ten finalists were selected and Edelman was tasked with creating mini documentaries showcasing each business owner’s story and ideas. The videos were posted online and audiences voted to help select the Grand Prize winners. All finalists received $5,000-$25,000 to use toward supplies to help bring their small business ideas to life. Campaign Results: 67,000 votes, 120 media placements, 133 social media posts, 172 million impressions, and a request for 30-second cuts for media use by the client.
