Organic and Guitar Center launched the Wish List Poster Creator in November 2009. The new service provides a fresh spin on traditional static wish lists by letting consumers showcase items they want for the holiday season in an interactive, musically-themed “poster” they can share with friends and family or post on popular social media sites.
Once on the Guitar Center site, interested consumers can click on “Wish List” where they are presented with interactive poster templates developed by commissioned artists who have created posters for the world’s top venues in a variety of musical genres including Heavy Metal, Rock and New Wave. Visitors select their poster style, personalize it by adding their name and a headline for their list and then click and drag their gift wishes onto the poster. Once completed, they simply click the publish button to email it to friends and family and post on sites such as Facebook and MySpace.
In just a few short weeks, consumers used Guitar Center’s Wish List Poster Creator to generate over 5,000 posters and over 11,000 wish lists during the holiday season.
