Best Legal Social Media Campaign
Introduction
Siskinds LLP is a premier Canadian law firms. In, 2012, tbk Creative and Siskinds were winners of IAC Award �best social media campaign in the legal field� for the Take Your Body Back campaign. Many believed this campaign was the first use of social media to market a class action proceeding in history.
After this campaign, Siskinds decided to use Facebook to market its own law practice.
Goals
Together we created a Facebook marketing campaign called �Siskinds New Years Charity Challenge.�
Goals were:
1. Fan acquisition (primary goal) � Increase fans by 1,000 (page was at ~1,200)
2. Participation � Receive 20 submissions from local charities.
3. News Media � Receive news media mentions from 2 sources.
4. Brand Messaging � To further deliver the message to the local marketplace that �Siskinds cares about the community.�
What We Did
tbk Creative built a Facebook marketing software in-house that allowed charities to submit stories on Facebook for how they could use the $5,000 donation. For a submission to win, it must receive the most votes.
We supplemented the campaign with Facebook advertising and public relations media outreach.
The Results
Participation � 47 (135% over target)
Fan acquisition � 1,750 (75% over target)
Media mentions � 2 (100% of target)
Law firms are normally slow to adopt new forms of marketing. This campaign had Siskinds act progressive as a law firm and push the envelope proving that law firms can engage their community in innovative ways. To this day, at 3,456 fans, Siskinds may have the largest Facebook communiy for a mid-market sized law firm in North America.
