Best Non-profit Online Video

As part of our ongoing fundraising strategy, we develop key narratives to help inform and educate the public about our cases and clients, and why they are worth supporting. In 2020, we developed this video about a former nurse, Gail Blair, who lost her sight due to a degenerative eye condition. As a person of faith, Gail would visit a nearby public park located across the street from her home where she shared the gospel with those who wanted to discuss their faith. Incredibly, for this simple act of outreach, she was banned from both the park and library—and even threatened with arrest. That’s when First Liberty stepped in to provide her with free legal support and representation. This video is Gail’s story, shared in her own words, about her mission to share the gospel—why she was so passionate about it, how fulfilling it was to her, and how devastating it was to lose the ability to reach out to her community. At its essence, the video is deeply personal, emotional – and strikes a chord with viewers – whether they are religious or not. It served as the centerpiece of our marketing campaign to share Gail’s story at our live events, as well as in all of our online channels: website, social media, digital advertising and our eNewsletter. Ultimately, First Liberty won Gail’s legal case. Today, she once again shares the gospel in her local park…continuing the personal mission she knows she was called to fulfill.
