Teens face more stress than the average adult daily. And for some, marijuana seems to help. But in reality, it can negatively impact everything from their minds and bodies to their mental health.
You Can, a marijuana prevention campaign aimed at 12 to 17-year-olds in Washington state, was created to help teens find healthy ways to deal with their emotions and inspire them to follow their dreams. For years, we focused on changing the marijuana conversation in Washington state. Talking with teens—not at them—about the things they could achieve, not the mistakes they may be making. Then, COVID-19 changed everything.
From missing out on once-in-a-lifetime moments to being more isolated and bored than ever, teens have struggled throughout this pandemic. And we knew we had to meet them where they were. Remind them that they weren’t overreacting, and their feelings were valid. Inspire them to discover the strength they have inside themselves to heal in healthy ways. And through the power of spoken word—and TikTok—we did.

About the Agency:
GMMB is an agency on a mission. We got our start helping great candidates win tough elections—and three decades later, we’re still delivering. But the issues we care about aren’t solved in November. So, we became more than just another political shop. We bring our campaign-trail mindset and ability to hone a message to elevate policy discussions, grow movements, and advance issues year-round. From electoral politics, education, and healthcare to global development and the environment, we are experts who work across disciplines to win—and get real results.
