The Ascott Ultimate Resident is a social media campaign by The Ascott Limited that promotes the "Around Our Residences" application - a mash-up of Facebook and Google Maps that helps users navigate cities of their interest.
In addition to raising awareness for the Facebook application, the Ascott Ultimate Resident contest aimed at inviting Ascott’s guests and Facebook fans to share useful tips about what guests can see and do around Ascott serviced residences worldwide. Users can also benefit from the useful insider tips shared by Ascott’s residence managers from over 100 serviced residences in Asia Pacific, Europe and the Gulf region.
Contributors of the top 5 tips (based on votes) each won a 3-night stay at any Ascott serviced residence of their choice. The prize encouraged quality entries, while the voting element allowed Ascott to take advantage of the power of social media to create a viral effect as participants rally for votes from their friends.
